City Lights at Night Original Text:
UNLV has always been sort of a strange institution in Vegas. Okay, sure, any huge city needs a university, but the last thing people think when they think about Sin City is “a good education”. The result is that working at UNLV or living on the campus is sort of a good way to drop off the radar, supernaturally speaking. Although colleges are usually big draws for Kindred, this is definitely a case of the lesser of two Racks. Why hunt freshmen on campus when you can have them throw themselves at you on the Strip?
“Do I miss it? Sometimes, sure. I miss more what it represents, how simple my life was back then. But there were always too many rich kids who thought it’d be a permanent party not too far away from mommy and daddy in LA, and I only got a season and a half of track in before my knee. I really could’ve done olympic level things, but I’m sorta glad it happened. I was kinda a prick back then.
…Hey man, fuck you, that was unnecessary.”
